Gong Xi Gong Xi

It was a long Chinese New Year Period, from Sat to Tues... Anyway i found Chinese to be rather queer people. We leave home with oranges to give to other people and we come home with the same number of oranges. AND the elders get happy when a young one wishes them well and repays them with a fat packet of money. I don't know bout them but if wishing me 4-word phrases doesn't improve my prospects in the coming year, i don't know how it improves theirs! Its nice, but still... well

My mum asked "so when you want to bai nian? i even prepare the oranges on the table for you already." So i took up the oranges and said "Happy New Year."

Mum: "And then?"

Me: "And then what?"

Mum: "Thats all?"

Me: "Yesss..."

Mum: "EEyer not sincere one, here's your hongbao."

Me: "Thanks"

Mum: "Wish you a happy new year and... and... and..."

Me: "Argh, see you're the same"

Even if i do come up with the 4 word phrases its always the same every year. The mandarin vocab stopped expanding since i was 14. BTW, 14 was almost a decade ago.

Today went to Tat Chuen's place at Dover Road. My first time there, and met his little child. His name sounds similar to our Stephen. Nice bright apartment, but they're moving soon due to en-bloc.

Went to Stephen's later.. small group of us were playing Taboo so Teresa was trying to make her team guess the word 'FLUSH' so she said in a flurry

"What do you do after you use the toilet?"

And the over-zealous Yikai replied "WIPE!!!"

That was one of the funny moments playing the game...
As of some of our games, it consisted of forfeits and here are the losers...

Some of us were liked more than the others
