Re: Being Mr. Nice Guy
Does being a nice guy pay? It has been discussed for ages. As the saying goes, 'Nice guy finishes last'. So what's the incentive for being nice? Before we get into that, what do you consider nice?
Personally, niceness put in a general manner would include acts that put others before self. A tinge of altruism I must say.

p/s: this is not to diss our perpetual mr. nice guy (aka fredo)

Recently, a change of events occured in my life that simply reinforces the above-mentioned saying. It started with a well intentioned act of reducing the hassle and inconvenience of my acquaintances. However, it went WRONG. Allegations flew in my face instead of appreciations.
So why be a nice guy in the first place when the risks of others misconstruing your well intended thoughts outweigh the neglible benefits? Is it innate? Has it to be due to your upbring or cultural beliefs or religious faith?

I certainly hope that all of us possesses a kind and caring heart regardless of what happens. Real world has enough of envy, jealousy, suspicion and etc to contaminate and pollute the world for eons. It needs some kind souls no matter how miniscule they are in actual numbers. For me, I will continue to be Mr. NIce Guy despite all the misunderstandings.
