Why front desk staff shd be a female?
Before you guys condemn me for being a sexist or over zealously stereotyping gender roles, I got to add this disclaimer.

I AM ALL FOR GENDER EQUALITY!!

If I were to be an employer in the future, front desk staff should and must be a female. A team would be great. They really work wonders unlike having a guy. A guy is really a wrong choice no matter how nice he is.

My laptop is in the operating theatre now. Seriously afflicted by some deadly disease. Upon reaching the Service Centre, my mood was really down. It is only 1 week and 1 day before my first paper. I bet my luck has reached rock bottom. My initial personal 'diagnosis' turned out to be far from the truth. I needed a reality check, big time.

The staff did an 'autopsy' and discovered evidence of water. It has corroded the internal parts. Being a non-techie, I was totally shocked. Worse is to come. The parts to be replaces are not covered under the 3 years warranty. The damage was caused by ME.

Really about to flare up. Next worry was the date of collection. I requested for a pickup on the following day as this coming Friday is Good Friday. The stress is really getting to me. She said Monday is the more likely date.

How can that be possible? However, my persistent requests and questions did not faze her. She simply worked her charm and diffuse my impatience. If it were a guy, I bet I would have blown my top on him. He would just have to blame his luck on having such a bad customer. This would be a revisit of lesson 1 for all customer service personnel: Customer is always right.

Thats why it pays to have a female fronting your company. I can sense the 'sexist' accusations hurtling towards me. However, it is a smart and effective way to build up your business. The best is to have a demure and pleasant looking staff. The chances of customers losing their cool is neglible.

Anyway, for Fujitsu users, the Service Centre at Henderson is worth paying a visit to. Even if faced with a bill at the end of the visit.
